SLABS

The slabs are flat and horizontal structures which meet the following functions : structural, habitability and as a condition of chaining.

In order to transmit horizontal actions, both for concrete structures and bearing walls, a slab should have chains or edge beams made ​​around the perimeter of the floor.

This resource of  chaining, as well as being a link between forgings and walls, are subjected to shear and bending as a result of seats or other causes, and to the traction by the action of wind or earthquakes. It must be calculated for these efforts.
